Bird-recording in Wales is based largely on the Watsonian vice-county system. Brecknock VC42 is broadly the southern third of Powys unitary authority but records for a section of the Watsonian vice-county (including Llwyn-Onn Reservoir) are managed by East Glamorgan. Similarly, records from a small area north of Ebbw Vale are maintained by Gwent.
