April 21st is World Curlew Day – celebrate it across Wales. This beautiful photo of a Curlew was taken by Tony Pope only a few days ago – a lovely atmospheric picture of a North Wales Curlew on its breeding grounds. In a year when Slender-billed Curlew has officially been declared extinct, let’s do all we can to keep our Welsh Curlews breeding successfully in their moorland habitats. The thought of not hearing that beautiful bubbling song and that haunting cry in Wales is too painful to contemplate.
