Robin Sandham is based in Conwy and has been a WBRC panel member for several years. He wrote and self-published Scarce and Rare Birds of North Wales in 2016 and produced the monthly reviews of rarity highlights for the WOS website for eight years. He has been a keen birder for as long as he can remember and a ringer for ten years, concentrating on ringing in Snowdonia with several hundred nestboxes  for Pied Flycatchers, Redstarts and Barn Owls  and a colour ringing project for Stonechats. His birding is mainly local to North Wales, with regular trips to north-west Ireland and occasional trips further afield. His interests include local biological recording and he works in planning policy for Conwy Borough Council when he’s not birding!
