Joshua was co-opted as a Trustee in 2026. Following a move to West Wales a few years ago he became an active member of the Teifi Ringing Group. He is currently completing a research Master’s on bird sound recording for conservation, after a bachelor’s degree in wildlife biology. He has worked and volunteered with a variety of bird- and wildlife-related jobs, including time at Spurn and Long Point Bird Observatories, the RSPB in Northern Ireland, and BSG Ecology and has many years of experience with bird surveys, ringing, and photography, as well as an interest in sound recording. He is the eBird reviewer for Wales.

Joshua is seeking to encourage more youth participation in WOS and in birding across Wales. Examples might include bird events for youth and helping young people make more connections, like day or weekend-long birding trips or a youth bird race. Events like these greatly inspired his own passion for birds.
