Gethin Jenkins-Jones was co-opted to Council in November 2023 upon being appointed as the Development and Engagement Coordinator for BTO Cymru. His main role involves expanding the BTO volunteer network across Wales through promoting the organisation’s core surveys, as well as working alongside the regional representatives and expanding the BTO’s reach to new and diverse audiences. Now based in Bangor, he grew up in Cardiff where his interest in birdwatching began at a very young age. During his time studying Conservation Biology and Ecology at Exeter University, his interest in nature grew to include entomology, ichthyology and paleobiology. He has since worked as a field ecologist and as a community park ranger.
