Cambrian Ornithological Society

Welsh Ornithological Society

COS is the county bird club for northwest Wales and produces the annual Cambrian Bird Report for the counties of Caernarfon, Anglesey and Meirionnydd. COS is affiliated to the Welsh Ornithological Society, which hosts these pages.

Speaker meetings are held at either Pensychnant Conservation Centre (01492 592595) at the top of Sychnant Pass, above Conwy, LL32 8BJ) or on Zoom. The Zoom meetings are offered during the dark and less clement winter months. These are clearly listed in the programme. This actually allows for us to reach a wider range of speaker and a wider audience. All meetings  start at 7.30pm.

Starting times for field trips vary – see programme below for times. For field visits bring lunch and suitable outdoor clothing.  Contact details of the leader are given on the programme and we ask that you let the leader know if you are intending to come. Occasionally field trips have had to be cancelled due to inclement weather. Please phone the trip leader if interested in car sharing for field excursions.  Bring lunch, and suitable outdoor clothing.

For Zoom meetings you will be sent a link to connect to the group.  For field trips you need to register with the leader beforehand.

The most recent Bulletin (no. 199) can be downloaded here.

Subscriptions 2022: Adult (single) £12; Couple £14; Student / Junior £6.
