Anya was co-opted on to Council in 2025. She currently works for RSPB as a Conservation Officer for the North Wales Moors Priority Landscape. She has been with the RSPB since September 2022, previously focusing on Black Grouse conservation work across the North Wales uplands.
She has worked on diverse species recovery projects, including Black Grouse, Osprey, Stone-curlew, and White-tailed Eagle reintroductions. Previously, she worked as a Technical Specialist in Marine Ornithology for offshore wind developments. Anya holds a BSc in Wildlife Conservation and an MSc in Endangered Species Recovery and Conservation, both from Nottingham Trent University. She is currently working towards her ringing permit and actively undertakes a range of volunteer ornithological surveys. She also volunteers with the Osprey Leadership Foundation, supporting emerging conservation leaders.
A keen birdwatcher and scuba diver, Anya is often found off the North Wales coast either birdwatching or exploring underwater!
