Alun is presently Chief Executive of PYST Cyf – a company he co-founded in 2018. PYST Cyf is responsible for two operations: PYST which is a digital music distribution and promotion system which distributes 90% of all music coming out of Wales in both languages and a cultural website and app called AM – http://www.amam.cymru which promotes all genres of the arts in Wales. PYST Cyf is funded by the Welsh Government and has been recognised in the Labour/Plaid Cymru co-operation agreement as the key digital platform they are committed to supporting.

He has been a passionate birdwatcher since the age of 16 and tries to spend as much time as possible  birdwatching, mainly in the Cardiff area. A member of WOS as well as the RSPB and BTO, his other interests include supporting Wrexham Football Club, politics and reading. He is a Trustee of Disability Arts Cymru, and a first language Welsh speaker.
