It's here! The full programme for the 2026 Conference is now finalised. Here's a summary:

General booking is now open for WOS members and Young Birders on 1st August and for non-members of all ages. The emphasis this year will be on species that regularly migrate, sometimes, quite long distances, to make Wales their home for part of their annual cycle.

This year the conference will be jointly organised by WOS and BTO Youth and we are particularly encouraging younger birders (aged 18-25) to attend the conference because we are putting on an afternoon session for those people called Conservation Conversations where experts/speakers will be able to have a short chat to the younger generation about specific topics or their individual journeys into bird conservation.

We are looking for enhanced sponsorship for this conference because we don’t want the costs of a conference ticket plus travel to inhibit anyone from attending. If any WOS members would like to sponsor someone to attend or just help with general costs, we would love to hear from you – there’s an extra button on the Eventbrite booking site to enable you to give an extra £10 and this will go towards our Young Conservationist Conference bursaries.
