Huw Roberts was appointed as Treasurer in 2022 and although he lives in Lancashire he’s regularly to be found in Wales. He’s been a keen birdwatcher since childhood, following in his father’s footsteps (literally!) as he took us on expeditions to watch birds and ringing with him, and Huw got hooked. Now that he’s a little longer in the tooth and his children have flown the nest he has more time on my hands and has taken up ringing himself; he’s a BTO C permit holder with sites across Lancashire, and also Pied Flycatcher boxes and Barn Owls in North Wales. Having recently moved to a house with a large garden and adjacent to some woodland he is fortunate to be able to ring and birdwatch in the garden, and works with the Local Authority to erect and monitor various nest boxes in the adjacent woodland.
