WOS agrees Memorandum of Understanding with Bardsey

WOS and BBFO share very similar aims in accurately recording birds and other wildlife across Wales to aid species conservation. Informal discussions have led to thinking on the benefit of closer working between the organisations and sharing of information across our memberships. This is now being formalised in a Memorandum of Understanding.

Through this MOU, WOS will provide a BBFO / Bird Observatories page on the WOS website to describe the work of BBFO and membership information along with web links. We’ll also provide an observatories report slot at our annual conference and will co-ordinate our e-news and other social media as far as possible. Bardsey (BBFO) will provide a WOS page on the BBFO / Bird Observatories page website to describe the work of WOS and membership information along with web links and will provide information for our regular Web and e-news updates of any relevant / exciting news from the Observatory.

So starting from June 2020, there’ll be a monthly update from Bardsey on the WOS website, which will run alongside the monthly Scarce and Rare reports and include general background and information on what’s going on on the island.

You can find out more information about Bardsey here, including how to support the work of the Observatory and follow daily events on the island through the Observatory blog and there is also a Bardsey Obs What’s App group which is open to anyone to join.

We’re looking forward to a closer relationship with BBFO and the events on the magical island of Ynys Enlli!

Current login problems

A quick message to all members:  we are currently changing our membership system and that means new passwords for all members.   Letters giving you the new details are on their way but may take a bit longer than usual to arrive.   In the meantime, you may have problems logging in to the membership areas.

Due to these problems we have made all membership areas accessible without logging in for the time being.

If you are having ongoing problems please contact the membership secretary with your login details and problems.

Apologies for the timing of changing passwords and arrival of letters has not happened in quite the right sequence. Thank you for your continued support of Welsh Ornithological Society.
