‘Birds in Wales 17:1’ now published – a bit late but a cracking read

Delayed from August, owing to pressure of work on the new avifauna, the latest ‘Birds in Wales’ has now been published, sent to members and is available in downloadable PDF format in the members-only section on the website. It contains papers on Shelduck in Pembrokeshire, the prehistoric and historic bird fauna of Wales, Ring-necked Parakeets in Wales from 1975-2017, the first 20 years of the Newport Wetlands national nature reserve, estimating breeding populations of birds in Wales (including a link to a spreadsheet explaining the calculations), a note on long-term aggression in a Buzzard and a fascinating obituary for Peter Hope Jones, written by Geoff Gibbs.
