Valley Parade – Wildlife on the Lower Rio Grande Valley – Texas, the oil state of the USA but what of the wildlife. Neil will enlighten us.

Glamorgan Bird Club : Outdoor Meeting – Ogmore.

Wednesday 18th December – Ogmore (F) 2-3 HT 11:00. With luck we’ll see Purple Sandpipers on the coastal rocks and Goldeneye numbers should be building up on the estuary.

Field Meetings (F) – Please contact John Wilson (info@glamorganbirds.org.uk) before the due date. Bring packed lunch and suitable clothing/footware. Participants may be expected to car share. The meeting place in Cardiff for many trips is St Margaret’s Road in Whitchurch, Cardiff – We meet at the A4054 end.

Please note though, that due to the difficulty of getting to St Margaret’s Rd mid week mornings, esp for the leader, mid week trips will normally be meet at the location.

November 2019

Generally a fairly quiet month, compared with the mega-rarities recorded in other parts of the UK with the highlight being a warbler at Rhyl Brickworks from 11th to 13th, initially identified as a Hume’s Leaf Warbler on its call, but later ‘downgraded’ to a Yellow-Browed Warbler. For some the jury is still out!
