New Welsh Bird List for 2020

The Welsh bird list has now been updated for 2020 and includes all birds recorded in Wales up to the end of 2019. If you haven’t looked at the list for some time (or never!) you can find copies of the up-to-date list as a PDF or spreadsheet.

Glamorgan Bird Club : Indoor Meeting – Review of 2019.

Tuesday 7th January – Review of 2019 (I) – A new venture to replace the Member’s Own,. We’ll be looking at highlights of the past year.

Indoor Meetings (I) – These are generally held on the first Tuesday of the month during the winter months. Start 7.45pm in the Kenfig National Nature Reserve’s Visitor Centre, Kenfig. Contact Paul Denning (01443 202607) for details.

Generally a fairly quiet month, compared with the mega-rarities recorded in other parts of the UK with the highlight being a warbler at Rhyl Brickworks from 11th to 13th, initially identified as a Hume’s Leaf Warbler on its call, but later ‘downgraded’ to a Yellow-Browed Warbler. For some the jury is still out!
